LIAM & GERI DORCEY - Glass Artists

Liam & Geri live and work on the beautiful Roseland Peninsula in Cornwall. Their glasswork is kiln formed, with inclusions of flame worked and hand blown pieces fused together to make one whole and exclusive piece of work. The shaped pieces are continually worked upon and can take as long as seven days to make, returning several times to the kiln, after which each piece is signed.

The colours and forms used are chosen to represent the diverse and beautiful coastline near their home, with some pieces depicting the sea with harbours and marinas together with the jostling of sails and rigging, whilst other pieces are based upon the countryside, the beach and the sky. Each piece is a unique work of art with no two pieces the same.

Liam and Geri have had their work described as ‘ technically superior’ in an arts magazine and have just been awarded the prestigious Three Spires Blue Riband for work entered in the Cornwall Art Fair at Falmouth Art Centre.
They are continually exploring new avenues and techniques, with a large dose of lateral thinking and downright tinkering which can produce startling results. Currently they are exploring the possibilities presented by recycling domestic glass waste.

Liam and Geri hope you enjoy exploring this website and return every now and then to see what's new.

GLASS ARTISTS - Creating interesting stuff
Geraldine Dorcey comes from a background in the fashion industry (mother was a milliner) with a lifelong love of textiles and textures. An avid collector of glass together with experience of interior and accessories design, now works with glass in all its various forms from stained glass windows and jewellery to fused and slumped work. Worked as a shopping centre manager in Hampshire and Essex until the call of the wild struck whilst commuting around the M25. Has now discovered that making glass is more exciting and fulfilling than just collecting. Is able to call on a wide experience base to produce attractive and saleable commercial work as well as some stunning art pieces.

Liam Dorcey An ex Metropolitan Police Constable, discovered the airbrush at 21, started custom painting cars and bikes and touring with Airbrush manufacturers demonstrating at exhibitions and trade fairs. Now an internationally known freehand airbrush artist producing both abstract and representational work, has also worked with cold cast resin methods, as a muralist and with mosaics.
We are now exploring all facets of glass work including casting, slumping, sagging and fusing.

All works shown are for sale. Have a look at the Painted Art Gallery, Art Glass Gallery, Recycled Glass Projects and our Business Gallery!
